NBA Betting: San Antonio Spurs vs. Memphis Grizzlies Game 3 Pick

The Memphis Grizzlies are going to be back in action on Saturday night in the Volunteer State, looking for their first ever win on their home court in the playoffs, as they take on the San Antonio Spurs in NBA playoffs betting action.
The Spurs really had some tense moments in Game 2 on Wednesday night, especially when they were down by three at intermission and trailing early in the fourth quarter. San Antonio really has not played anywhere near its best ball of yet in this series, and we are starting to wonder if it ever really will or not. The good news is that the effort in Game 2 was a lot more well rounded than it was in Game 1. Five different men scored at least a dozen points, and four scored at least 16. Manu Ginobili was back in the fold, and that made a world of difference as well. If Ginobili could have done a little better at the charity stripe than the 7-of-13 that he went, this game probably would have been a bit more lopsided than the 93-87 final suggests. Still, with a team high 17 points, seven boards, and four assists to go with four steals, there’s nothing to complain about at this point for the Argentine. Shooting the rock has been a major issue thus far in this series, as 43.8 percent in Game 2 just isn’t going to cut it for the series. The Spurs also turned the ball over a whopping 18 times, including five each for Ginobili and Tim Duncan.
It was the bench that arguably won the Grizzlies Game 1 of this best of seven NBA betting affair, and it was the bench that arguably cost them Game 2. Shane Battier and OJ Mayo both were absolutely huge in the first game last weekend, but in Game 2, they combined to shoot just 3-of-18 from the floor, hurting an already dismal shooting effort by the team as a whole at just 39.8 percent. The good news is that Tony Allen and Sam Young were great contributors in limited minutes in the starting lineup, as they scored 15 and 17 points respectively. In fact, all five starters had double digits in points. Marc Gasol might have only shot 2-for-9 from the floor, but he also hit eight of his 11 foul shots to score 12 points. He also had a whopping 17 rebounds, easily a game high. Memphis needs to do a better job from beyond the arc as well. Shooting 21.4 percent just isn’t going to get the job done, especially against the Spurs.
San Antonio is the better team in this series, but we’re just not so sure that this is a great matchup for it. The Grizz are going to be a popular choice in the third game of this series, and it wouldn’t shock us to see them take a 2-1 series lead by beating the NBA playoffs odds.
